Celebrate New Years Eve in Sydney this year with live broadcasts

By Louise Morrin

With all the excitement of New Years Eve buzzing around the city, chances are you've got plans to celebrate the end of 2014 your own, special way. The Sydney Council plans to broadcast live feeds of the city's celebrations – including the massive annual fireworks display – on television and YouTube, giving you an opportunity to enjoy the display without leaving your own celebrations.

Regardless of whether you're out and about with friends or spending a low-key night with family in your real estate in Carlton, you won't miss out on the festive activities taking place across the New South Wales capital.

Lord mayor Clover Moore said the broadcast would feature live musicians, interviews with celebrities and broadcasts of both the 9pm and midnight fireworks displays.

"Our live TV, radio and online broadcasts will feature hours of free entertainment and provide a box seat for Sydney's spectacular fireworks displays. These are great choices for those who can't make it into the city or who would rather avoid the queues and crowds," said Ms Moore in a 23 December statement.

This could be a wonderful option to consider for your own New Year's Eve celebrations, bringing in 2015 in comfort.
