New delivery of child care facilities expected across Sydney

By Louise Morrin

Providing young children with the fundamentals of a good life is an important factor to consider as a parent, which means looking into areas with great childcare services. Luckily for those living in property in Carlton, Sydney is expected to see a large number of new developments funded in the near future.

Since January 2014, there have been 12 development applications approved that house a potential 718 new childcare places, with an additional 18 applications currently being assessed. Lord mayor Clover Moore has said the city will actively work with developers to help encourage new childcare spaces.

"We know that more families are moving to the inner city and quality childcare is essential for working parents," said Ms Moore in a 21 January statement.

"As well as helping deliver childcare in private developments, the City is also investing to fast track the development of six of our own new childcare centres. Construction has begun on our new 60-place centre in Darlinghurst and design work has started on our new centre in Green Square with 74 spaces."

As these developments begin to get underway – with more anticipated for the future – now could be a great time to consider buying Carlton property for you and your family.
