Annual Mayoral Ball highlights Motor Neurone Disease

By Louise Morrin

Doing good is rewarding, but why not have a good time while you're at it? This year's annual Mayoral Ball gives residents with property in Carlton the opportunity to raise awareness and money for a good cause all while having a great evening.

This year's event will be held at the Museum of Contemporary Art on 19 July and benefit the Motor Neurone Disease Association of NSW. The organisation's purpose is to assist those who suffer from Motor Neurone Disease and provide them with necessary items, such as electric wheelchairs and communications equipment. It also provides victims and their families with the information they need about health and government services.

The event not only gives Carlton residents the opportunity to network, meet other locals and catch up with friends, but also educate themselves about the disease and support this worthwhile cause with Mayor Cr Stephen Agius.

While the event doesn't take place until mid-July, you'll want to get involved early if you think you can help out or if you're interested in helping with the fundraising tasks.
