Families Will Love Carlton

By Louise Morrin

Families wanting a child-friendly suburb with plenty of outdoor activities on offer need look no further than property in Carlton.

At only 2 square kilometres and with parklands covering 2 per cent of that space, households in the area enjoy being part of a tight knit community of around 10,000 people.

The community is made up largely of families, with children aged between 0 and 14 years making up the bulk of the population. That means there'll be an abundance of new playmates for your little ones, and other couples for you to share a coffee with while your kids roam free in the park.

The majority of homes in Carlton are owner-occcupied by people in professional occupations. SInce children make up such a large part of the population, it's a good thing that there are plenty of schools within reach. Education providers include Carlton Public School, Blakehurst High School and Kogarah High School.

In terms of facilities, the Beverley Park Golf Club will keep families entertained all year. The Park has been one of Sydney's best-loved grounds for over 70 years and has produced some of the sport's biggest icons, including our very own Greg Norman. Get your kids involved in the sport and who knows how far they'll go!
