Lawn library to take over Hyde Park

By Louise Morrin

As part of the 2015 Sydney Festival, the city will create a lawn library in Hyde Park – which will be home to hundreds of books for people to enjoy until 25 January. This could be a great way to spend some time with friends and family over the coming weeks, especially for owners of property in Carlton

With a huge range of books for all walks of life, the lawn library also offers workshops for arts and crafts, circus skills and jewelry making, as well as a variety of musical performances throughout the installation.

Lord mayor Clover Moore said this is part of the $34 million annually invested in Sydney's cultural development, and is part of one of the city's biggest festivals.

"It's the perfect spot to sit back, relax and catch up on your reading or just take some time out from the buzz of the Festival. I hope to see you during Family Week for story time, children's art activities, music jams and so much more," said Ms Moore in a 8 January statement.
