One box people look to tick when searching for a home is being close to health and medical centres. Whether it's just for peace of mind or due to illness, it's always reassuring to live near quality facilities.
Fortunately, residents of property in Carlton will be able to enjoy a brand new ambulance station.
As part of the 2014/15 New South Wales Budget, $150 million will go towards building new ambulance stations across the Sydney region. Interestingly, health minister Jillian Skinner noted that Sydney hasn't seen the construction of a brand new ambulance station in over 16 years.
Bankstown, Blacktown, Liverpool and Penrith will also receive new stations through this funding.
A new station in Kogarah will help to cut down response times and provide local residents with the emergency care they need.
"We are putting NSW Ambulance on a modern footing, which will allow us to improve response times while using our resources more efficiently," said Ms Skinner.
Fortunately, the Carlton area is conveniently located near to the St George Hospital. It's well equipped for many types of services including critical care, surgery, cancer care, mental health and community health.
