New planning initiative for Sydney highlights future growth plans

By Louise Morrin

As Sydney continues to experience huge degrees of population growth and property demand, Minister for Planning Pru Goward announced a new initiative for the future development of the New South Wales capital.

This could provide buyers interested in real estate in Carlton with the opportunity to expand their investment portfolios, with the plan aiming to reinvigorate the city's future. Ms Goward said the improvement of amenities like public transport, health care and education would take precedence – as well as the goal of boosting housing supply across the area.

"The Sydney way is to roll up our sleeves and get involved in creating the communities we want. The result of this plan will be the creation of places to walk the dog or take the kids to the park on the weekends. It will be homes near transport and jobs, which means shorter commutes and more time with family," said Ms Goward in a 14 December statement.

With plans to improve the central business district – as well as a specific focus on boosting Western Sydney – now could be a great time to begin considering your property options in the New South Wales capital for the future.
