Prepare Your Carlton Real Estate for Christmas

By Louise Morrin

Tis the season to be jolly, and this year it starts at home. It's time to prepare your property in St George for an onslaught of carolers, relatives and all-round festive cheer.

The obvious place to start is with your Christmas tree. If anyone in your family suffers from hayfever it's best to stick with an artificial variety as pine needles can irritate some delicate sensibilities.

Dress your tree up with tinsel, baubles, home made ornaments and twinkling fairy lights. You could choose a Christmas colour scheme to run throughout your home, whether it's the traditional red and green or a more modern purple and silver combination.

Don't forget about your front door – a well designed wreath will show your neighbours you're well and truly in the festive spirit. You may want to tie this in with your theme or opt for a classic leafy green variety.

Take care not to neglect your backyard either. Many people utilise their barbecues in the summer months, so decorate your outdoor dining area with fairy lights and subtle decorations.

Most importantly, don't forget to pipe Christmas carols and celebrity seasonal soundtracks throughout your home.
