Capital investment in the Rockdale area is expected to get a boost, as city councillors voted to support the development of the Arncliffe Youth Centre earlier in the month (April 3). This is set to pave the way for further growth, which could be great news for residents of property in Carlton.
Mayor Shane O'Brien said the youth centre was the first of three major developments in the area that are expected to be constructed in the coming years and signals the "most significant investment" in capital works the region has ever seen.
"This provides a unique, innovative and financially prudent opportunity to develop the type of community facilities the community should expect," said Mr O'Brien in an April 3 statement.
"This is an exciting outcome for residents. The council is on course to deliver the major initiatives we promised the people of Rockdale."
The centre will provide opportunities for sporting activities, as well as things like artistic pursuits, homework spaces, musical development and a safe haven for ongoing support and counselling. It will feature two indoor multi-purpose courts and grandstand seating capable of housing up to 440 spectators.
This could be great for the future development of the Rockdale area and a fantastic opportunity for owners of real estate in Carlton.
