Are you new to a neighbourhood? It can be scary not knowing anyone or any place at first! Here are a few tips and tricks to get you acquainted with your new area.
School holidays have been on for a while, but there's still a few days left before the kids are back in class.
Fortunately, Carlton property owners with children of all ages are spoiled for choice when it comes to activities to keep the kids busy.
Get active
Neighbouring suburb of Hurstville is home to its own Aquatic Leisure Centre. Here you'll find a pool where your kids can have a splash around or learn how to swim. There's even a big sports stadium where your young ones can sign up to a sports programme. Whether it's tennis, footy, soccer or dance, there's a variety of classes on offer to keep them active and healthy.
Keep learning
The nearby Kogarah Library is a great spot to take the kids during the school holidays. Here they can find a great selection of books, as well as online reading and learning services to help improve their literacy skills.
Holiday activities
Up until 11 July, libraries across Rockdale are hosting school holiday activities for primary school-aged children. Arts and crafts are available, as well as a selection of other fun activities.
Best of all, these sessions are free. Just make sure you book in advance so you can secure your kids a spot.
There are many activities that happen in and around Carlton each school holiday season – one of the many reasons why families love living here!
