Selling Your Home in the Summer

By Louise Morrin

If you’re planning on selling your Carlton real estate this summer, you might want to bear the season in mind when you’re marketing your property.

Before having people through your home to view the property, make sure you’ve got the temperature regulated to something bearable.

Use fans, air conditioners or open windows to achieve this. If a person is uncomfortably warm when they are viewing a property, they are unlikely to have positive connotations with it.

Highlight your outdoor areas, even if you only have a balcony or small porch. Any open spaces should be spruced up to show potential for outdoor entertaining. You could do this by adding chairs and tables, a barbecue or creative lighting.

Make sure your gardens and lawns are in great condition before you show people around your home. As people spend a lot of time outdoors in the summer, a well maintained exterior could be very helpful to attracting buyers looking for houses for sale in Carlton.

If you have a pool, this is a great time of year for you to use it to your advantage! Just make sure it’s clean and looks inviting. You could add some deckchairs or sun loungers to play up this feature.
