Making Australia a more sustainable place is an important goal for the future, which is why the City of Sydney's latest master plan could come as welcome news to clean and green residents of property in Carlton.
A new plan for energy efficiency was revealed earlier this week (25 February), aiming to help save more than $600million in energy bills for businesses and residents by 2030. Lord mayor Clover Moore said that delivering on these initiatives and taking the time to prepare now was a good way to help start combating further environmental damage.
"By improving energy efficiency through the actions and technologies outlined in the plan our residential and business communities can also reduce costs," said Ms Moore in a 25 February statement.
"The research in the plan shows building owners and their tenants just how much can be saved on power bills by reducing energy use."
The plan highlights a variety of suggestions for workplaces and homes across Sydney that can help people cut down their energy use by more than 30 per cent.
Embracing this in your Carlton home could be a great way to not only protect the environment, but also save yourself some money in the long term.
