Buyers in search of further incentive to go in search of property in Carlton should take a look at the Safe Cities Index for 2015, which gives special mention to the NSW capital.
Put together by The Economist Intelligence Unit, the survey ranked Sydney as the safest location in Australia, while it also featured in sixth place on a global scale.
Each city was assessed for its digital security, health security, infrastructure safety and personal safety before being given a worldwide ranking.
"We recognise the importance of safety in making Sydney an attractive destination for new and existing businesses and residents, so it is very pleasing to see this international recognition for Australia's global city," said Sydney's lord mayor Clover Moore.
She revealed that efforts are always being made to make the area even more welcoming and inclusive, not only for those who call it home, but also for the million visitors who head there every year.
Sydney's ranking in the 2015 index was particularly impressive, as it came higher than other notable cities such as Hong Kong, New York and London.
