The importance of open inspections for sales

By Louise Morrin

An open inspection is your first impression of showing potential buyers your home in person. And you know what they say about first impressions: They're impossible to repeat. So nailing it first time is important.

If you're looking to sell your real estate in Carlton, ensuring you host a great open inspection can help streamline the sales process and make it a faster experience. Here are some tips to help you make the most of it.

Clean up after your pets

One thing that people seem to dislike about houses is the presence of pets. Whether they're allergic or just don't like animals, it's always best to assume the worst and do a thorough clean of your home and backyard to eliminate any telltale fur or smells that linger.

Furthermore, sending your animal away during the open day could be a good idea. Leave them with a friend or family member while you focus on the inspection.

Deep floor cleaning

This isn't necessarily something that people think of doing in their homes, but hiring the services of a professional cleaner to really get your carpets cleaned – or your hardwood floors shining – can make the house positively glow. And it doesn't hurt to leave the new owners with a completely clean home as well!
