New home sales increased across the country in January, signalling a great start to 2014.
The news was welcomed by the Housing Industry Association (HIA) in a March 3 statement.
This is a favourable outcome for those seeking property in St George – it seems that buyers have already been snapping up new properties in NSW, whether they're first-time home buyers or investors.
Results welcomed by the HIA
Though new home sales declined somewhat in December, growth picked up in January, according to HIA Senior Economist Shane Garrett.
"The volume of new home sales rose by 0.5 per cent during the month. In January, sales of new detached houses rose by 0.3 per cent, with multi-unit sales increasing by 1.6 per cent," announced Mr Garrett.
"New home sales have been rising pretty steadily since the third quarter of 2012, encouraged by the falling interest rates and the return of confidence to the housing market."
Favourable figures for Sydney
Real estate in Carlton and its surrounding areas may be easier to secure if these low interest rates remain.
New detached house sales dropped slightly in NSW in January.
However, in the three months to January NSW saw a favourable 17.8 per cent increase in new detached house sales.
